Exhibit A
December 14, 2008It’s kind of painful trying to get anything done in SL lately. I just don’t have the time to get in except for a tiny window in the early afternoon and sometimes in the evening. I had to blow off a recording appointment with Itazura yesterday and I’ve pretty much just had to say “screw it” to any projects that require collaboration or video recording with anyone else. But all that aside, I finally decided to start work on the podcast exhibit in the SLPN HQ on Podcast Island that was meant to go in from the very start.
The exhibit is inspired by and uses content from Crap Mariner’s SL5B Podcast Exhibit, along with some videos I made for it. To be honest, I’m afraid it’s either going to take me a month to get it done, or else it’s going to look like the hit and run project it’ll have to be if I don’t. Oh, well. I’m getting pretty good at not doing anything very well. Why stop now?
So .. ta da! The first screen for one of the videos. Yay.
The players will get the key of the parcel media texture, then load their own texture, and then play their specified video. When stopped or done playing, they’ll restore the regular parcel media texture. It’s about as good as you can do for different video players on a single parcel. I guess I could do better by having them all use the same texture and differentiating stations some other way, then playing for each agent individually instead. I might have to do that, but for now I’ll try this approach.
Ok, if you’re thinking that this blog post has no purpose, you’re right. All it’s doing is making me feel like at least I’m getting something done. Cause I’m not really.
